‘Vande Mataram’ was built on 7 November 1876 at the residence of Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay at Kanthal Pada in Naihati, North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, which has now been converted into a museum. As we know that India was ruled by the British at that time, in such circumstances it became mandatory to sing the English song “God Save the Queen” on major occasions in the 1870s.
