When the valves get thickened and function partially, such is not a sign of a healthy heart and such valves need replacement, which is done through a minimally invasive surgical procedure which is known as TAVR (transcatheter aortic valve replacement surgery). Cardiac stenosis is a form of cardiac valve disease in which calcium buildup mostly causes the valve between the lower left heart chamber and the aorta to shrink.
